Data Collection and Usage
What Data We Collect
- Browsing History: We access your Chrome browsing history (URLs, page titles, visit timestamps) when you click "Sync History"
- Chat Messages: Your questions and the AI's responses are stored locally in your browser
- Music Metadata: For YouTube and Spotify pages, we extract song titles, artist names, and video descriptions to improve search accuracy
- User Preferences: Settings like theme preference, API configuration, and sync preferences
How We Use Your Data
- Local Processing: Your browsing history is processed locally in your browser and sent to our backend server only when you click "Sync History"
- AI Search: We use OpenAI's API to convert your browsing history into searchable embeddings and to generate responses to your queries
- No Selling: We never sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes
Data Storage
- Local Storage: Chat history and preferences are stored in Chrome's local storage on your device
- Backend Database: Your browsing history embeddings are stored in our ChromaDB vector database, isolated by your unique user ID
